How Can You Spot a Good Quality Pug?

To know that the pug you have is of good quality, you have to first browse through the health reports. Here are certain things you need to keep in mind while spotting for a good quality pug:

  • Visit the shelter and see if it’s clean or not. Try to remain informed about the shelter’s living conditions. By chance the shelter is dirty and sees dogs as breeding machines, there is a chance your pooch’s health is not good.
  • Don’t consider buying a pug from a puppy mill. Puppy mills are dirty and they treat pugs as breeding machines. They are not properly USDA recognised and the pugs there are susceptible to all kinds of infections and diseases.
  • Dig into the genetic history of the pug. Look if there are diseases the pug seems to carry with them.
  • Do you know your pooch’s earlier diet? Were they nicely provided with a well-balanced diet, if they are not, they can be susceptible to multiple illnesses.
  • Check the documents of health, transaction info carefully. Make sure that all the documents are in proper order. If there are any issues with vaccination and deworming, the pug can potentially suffer.
  • Enquire if the pooch has been properly vaccinated and dewormed. Or it can be a problem for its health.
